Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four kids born August 9th, 1976 at Beaumont Puy in Domme. The parents of Audrey Tautou who was both dentists and teacher, were aware of and supported their daughter's enthusiasm for acting and drama on an early stage. The support they provided is more than enough for Audrey to overcome her original goal of becoming a primatologist. At the age of a young lady the rise to fame was swift and ended with initial successes. After her graduation in 1998, she participated in an French talent-scouting TV programme Jeunes Premiers that was supported by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors prior to launching acting professionally. Tautou went to church and Institut Catholique de Paris during her childhood, but she now dissociates herself from her childhood. Apart from her acting work, she also pursued modelling. The model was for L'Oreal Mont Blanc, Chanel and is known as "The Chanel Muse". Additionally, she is a keen interest in photography and recently produced an exhibition of her work at the Arles Festival, titled Superficial. Her photos are mostly about fame and celebrity. They also feature an assortment of portraits of herself as well. Audrey Tautou became a star and gained international recognition with her role debut as Amelie Poulain in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie won international acclai box office success and was recognized at award ceremonies across the globe. The film is still the top-grossing French language film to date in the US. The film's success led to a huge increase in production. Tautou went on to star in a variety of films, which included British dramas such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long Sunday de fiancailles. Tautou also appeared alongside Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
